COMMIT TO BLISS DAY 11 (01.02.2018)
Sorry world but where exactly did January go? With this question in mind I can’t help but be reminded of the fabulous Blissology mantra – ‘We want to make the world a better place, by slowing down our frenetic pace, by doing so we make a space, to open up to love and grace’. Thanks Eoin Finn for this much needed reminder! So what can you do today to be more mindful, more observant, more able to slow down and more open to love and grace? Maybe a yoga class with yours truly? Or a beautiful gratitude meditation with the fabulous Deepak Chopra?
If you have the chance to be out in nature today even for just a few moments, connect your footsteps as they fall upon the earth with a deep sense of gratitude for all that the planet offers us, for all the support and life she gives us, for allowing us to walk upon mother earth and surrender to her and gratitude that father sky watches over us. Even if it’s lousy weather or security prevents you from taking a walk outside, really just take a moment to stop, breath and connect to nature in whatever form you experience it.
Check out The Blissologist’s Guide to a High Pranameter which features one of my favourite new recipes from The Yoga Kitchen – sweet potato gnocchi with walnut pesto – a wonderful winter warmer if you’re in cold weather right now.
And finally our wild card for today – just give! Give your time, give a smile, give some money, give love, upcycle something to a charity store or a friend, give a complement, give some yoga to someone else, or even send on this post to others and feed the upward spiral of positivity we’ve created.

About emergencyoga

As two committed humanitarians and yogis we wanted to find a way to combine our love of film making and our desire to share yoga goodness with our colleagues and friends working at the cold face of the humanitarian world. Emergency Yoga is our contribution to helping you survive in the field when work gets too much and life feels a little tough. We want you to know that Emergency Yoga has got your back and will make sure you can get your quick fix of calm, strength and relaxation whenever you need it. Everything you see on Emergency Yoga is done in our spare time, just because we love doing it and because we want you to stay safe and happy out in the field. Enjoy and namaste, Nicola and Donna
